NOVITÀ SU SEA-DOO
Valcourt, QC, February 8, 2013 – BRP's Sea-Doo watercraft have just completed an adrenaline charged few days in support of the opening event of the 2013 Red Bull Storm Chase, the world’s most challenging windsurfing event, pitting top windsurfers against the roughest conditions on the planet.
As an official partner, BRP was on hand with its Sea-Doo RXT 260 RS watercraft to support safety crews, a role for which their PWC are most ideally suited, with their exclusive Intelligent Brake and Reverse (iBR) technology, the world’s only on-water brake. Ten of the world’s best windsurfers completed three rounds of competition on Ireland’s Maharees peninsula, confronting storm-force gusts of up to 137 km/h (74 knots) and aggressive 6-metre (20-foot) waves, providing plenty of action.
BRP's iBR technology was put to the test when sailor Robby Swift raised the bar with what was, according to Head Judge Duncan Coombs, "…the sickest, highest, most delayed and controlled push-loop forward I’ve ever seen". Swift's board snapped on impact, but with Sea Doo watercraft always at their backs, sailors were feeling the confidence to make such bold moves.
After what one event reporter described as "possibly the most radical day in windsurfing history", Marcilio Browne, Dany Bruch, Victor Fernandez, Robby Swift, Julien Taboulet and Thomas Traversa all advance to the next Mission. BRP, like the windsurfers, now awaits the call of 'Mission 2' and the next superstorm.

Valcourt, Québec, September 14, 2012 – BRP today announced it will exit the sport boat business over the coming months, citing the continued global sales decline in the marine industry, particularly the drop in sales of sport boats since the financial crisis.
"This is a difficult but necessary decision for BRP," said José Boisjoli, president and CEO. "We worked hard to grow our sport boat business through a serious sales decline that began in 2007. But now, we must focus our research and development resources and capital investments in areas of our business that offer greater growth potential."
